The Context

The Camillian Social Center is a center for people with HIV-AIDS, which is located in Rayong province, in south-east Thailand, the third at national level for the highest number of AIDS patients. Until 2000 the organizations of public health in Rayong had not planned interventions to help people with AIDS and the lack of funds did not help to cope with an alarming situation. After several battles fought for the rights of HIV-positive children, and demonstrating that the antiretroviral therapy would allow each child to live, the Camillian Social Center in Rayong obtained the assurance from the Thai Ministry of Health that the anti-AIDS therapy would have been issued to each child. It 'true that without a parent or guardian to take care of these children is difficult to have social & health care and medical research.
